The ibbox uses a hybrid technology of standard speaker, delivering the mid to high frequencies, and a Gel Audio™ driver delivering low end Bass frequencies significantly lower than what is available from a conventional speaker of similar size

Gel audio is patented loudspeaker technology. When placed on a flat solid surface, such as tables, or held on windows or walls it will enhance the bass response and dramatically improve the volume and audio quality.
